Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
AfterShifts ("we," "us," or "our") provides automated review-request messaging for local service businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you, whether you are a business using AfterShifts (a "Client") or a customer of one of our Clients who receives a message through our system (an "End User").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Client account information: name, business name, email address, phone number, and payment information when you sign up for AfterShifts.
- End User contact information: when a Client submits a completed job, we receive the End User's first name and phone number for the sole purpose of sending a review-request message.
- Message content and metadata: the content of messages sent and received through AfterShifts, including timestamps and delivery status.
- Usage data: basic technical information such as IP address and browser type when you visit our website.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send automated, personalized review-request text messages on behalf of our Clients to their End Users.
- Detect whether an End User's reply is positive or negative, and route the response accordingly (a positive reply receives a review link; a negative reply is forwarded to the Client so they may resolve the issue directly).
- Operate, maintain, and improve the AfterShifts service.
- Communicate with Clients about their account, billing, and service updates.
- Comply with legal obligations, including telecommunications regulations applicable to SMS messaging.
3. SMS Messaging and Consent
AfterShifts sends text messages only to End Users who have an existing service relationship with a Client. By submitting an End User's contact information, the Client represents that the End User has consented to receive messages related to their service, including review requests.
Every message sent through AfterShifts includes the ability to opt out by replying "STOP." Once an End User opts out, we will not send further messages to that number on behalf of any Client.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies depending on the number of completed jobs submitted by the Client.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell End User or Client information to third parties. We share information only as necessary to operate the service, including with:
- Twilio — our SMS delivery provider, used to send and receive text messages.
- OpenAI — used to generate personalized message text and to detect reply sentiment. Message content is processed but not used to train OpenAI's models.
- Payment processors (such as Stripe) — used to process Client subscription payments.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain End User contact information and message history for as long as a Client maintains an active subscription, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and recordkeeping obligations. Clients may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us.
6. End User Rights
If you are an End User who has received a message from AfterShifts on behalf of a business you've worked with, you may:
- Reply "STOP" at any time to opt out of future messages.
- Contact us directly to request that your information be deleted from our systems.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect, including encrypted storage of credentials and restricted access to customer data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of AfterShifts after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
